CBD Safe Night Precinct and Fortitude Valley night time restrictions
Between midnight and 5am you’re not allowed to start an e-scooter journey in the CBD Safe Night Precinct and Fortitude Valley areas. However you can still ride through or park as normal. Beam e-bikes are unaffected by this rule.

Riders should keep the phone in the handy phone holder on Beam.This offense carries a fine of 12,000 yen (administrative penalty) and is subject to penalties of up to 6 months imprisonment or a fine of up to 100,000 yen (criminal penalty). Moreover, if the violation results in endangering traffic safety, it could lead to penalties of up to 1 year imprisonment or a fine of up to 300,000 yen.

If you are involved in an accident, you must stop riding immediately, give aid to the injured, and should report it to the police and Beam Mobility Japan. If someone is hurt, stop, help them, move the vehicle to a safe spot, and inform the police. Leaving the scene of an accident could lead to 5 years in prison or a 500,000 yen fine. Not reporting an accident to the police can mean 3 months in prison or a 50,000 yen fine.

E-scooters are available to hire between 5am and 11pm, except for city centre areas after 9pm Friday and Saturday, and Wynyard Quarter daily after 9pm.
Hindley Street no-ride hours
There is a no-ride policy on Hindley Street every Friday from 6pm until 6am on Saturday. The Hindley Street no-ride zone spans between West Terrace and King William Road.
